The Issue
Project Innovation
This project will retrofit an existing double effect evaporator, used to make tomato paste, and by adding an additional effect at the Recipient's tomato processing facility. This will entail the addition of a new evaporator vessel, pumps, modifications to existing structural platforms, vapor lines, condensate piping systems, and electrical and controls. This project will result in significant GHG emissions reductions by providing more evaporation capacity using the same amount of steam heating input, thereby making the process more efficient. The new high efficiency system will support sustainability goals, reduce operating costs, improve energy efficiency, and reduce GHG emissions.

This project will reduce greenhouse gas emission by retrofitting an existing evaporator to significantly improve its efficiency.
Environmental Sustainability
This project is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1,784 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year by reducing 336,000 Therms per year in Natural gas consumption.
